March meeting re-cap

Those who braved the torrential downpour to make it to the meeting Thursday afternoon were treated to a fantastic program by Jackie. Members cut stamps from corrugated cardboard and foam. The sticky backed foam was then attached to plexi-glass plates. Thanks to Bob, Jackie's husband, for cutting the plates and supplying the plastic to cover the tables.

The program for April will be presented by Miriam and will be painting washers with alcohol ink. These  can be made into beautiful necklaces and earrings. You will receive a supply list but if you do not get one contact Miriam before the meeting.

MAY PROGRAM NEEDED    What can you share with your quilting buds?

The June meeting will be on handbag embellishment. Everyone needs to visit your local thrift shop and purchase a purse to work with. Come with your purse and supplies to begin working on it at the meeting.

July will be  button embellishment, presented by Sandi.

If you would like to participate in the Bernina, quilt a murder, block of the month beginning in June, contact Lauren Byrne at quiltamurder.com

If you missed the meeting be sure to stop in at the Bernina shop. Bill and Melissa have expanded the store, it looks fantastic and there is sooooo much room. The wall color is gorgeous....very modern!

February meeting recap

There were 18 fiber artist at the GreatFul Threads February meeting with four of those being guest. It was a meeting full of creative energy.  Don't forget to let Jackie know if you can be at the Children's Discovery Museum Saturday, March 20 (a couple of hours in the afternoon) to help  children make zip bags. The children are such fun and so eager to sew on the machines. This is our golden opportunity to hand our quilting enthusiasm to the next generation!

Congrats to Nancy Packard. Her "Vortex" quilt was accepted to a show at the Quilt Museum in Texas.

I apologize for some of the pics  being blurry. It's a good thing I don't make a living as a photographer!
