GT October finale for 2016

What fun we had at the October GreatFul Threads meeting. Due to October being the last meeting of the year, the business meeting was short and sweet. Our talented leader, Jackie Cory, showed us ideas for 2017 programs. They included a door draft, mixed media round robin, fabric manipulation, wearable vest made from window screening, printing on glass, alcohol inks and sharpies used on fabric, zentangles on fabric and Swedish weaving.

A big thank you to Jackie for her leadership this year. The group has stepped outside the fabric box and dabbled in more mixed media which seems to agree with the membership. We look forward to stretching our creativity in the coming year.

The program for October was easy to make holiday  gift ideas. Members brought in a variety of kits, ideas, directions, and/or examples. How wonderful it was to see the creativity of our members, see pics below.

GT does not meet during November and December. I wish everyone a blessed holiday season. If you made any gifts and would like to share them with the group, please send me pics and I will post them on the blog. That would be a great treat for all of us!

Thank you to Melissa and Bill for sponsoring our group by giving us an awesome place to meet each month. They give us spacious table space, comfy chairs, ample lighting, comfortable temperatures and SHOPPING.....what more could we ask for!
