What fun we had at the August meeting exchanging the hand made charms. As you will see in the pics below they were very diverse, using fabric, wood, metal, hand painted and beads, to name a few.
Eight members were present with one new member, Laura. (Brenda, I did not get Laura's email, would you please tell her about our blogspot and have her sign up to get the postings?) After a short show 'n tell we exchanged charms and discussed programs for 2017. If you have an art quilt or mixed media technique you would like to learn let Jackie know. Several great ideas were brought up. Jackie won the monthly door prize supplied by Gail Greer, see pic below.
In September the meeting will be a trunk show and program by art quilter, Kay Donges, from North Carolina. You may remember Kay's portrait quilt hanging in the Bernina store during the grand opening. October, the last meeting of this year, will be a sew in. We will be making cuff bracelets and microwave bowl covers. Mark your 2017 calendar for the retreat, March 3-5 at Home Harvest in Trenton, GA.

Charms can be displayed in many ways. This is a collar Jackie made to hang hers. A large loop necklace also works.
